Main Application Areas Of Power Dividers

1. Communication Systems:

In communication systems such as mobile communication base stations and wireless local area networks (WLANs), power dividers are used to distribute the power of the signal source to multiple antennas or multiple receivers to achieve signal transmission and reception. For example, in base stations, the power of the transmitter is distributed to multiple antennas through a power divider to improve the coverage and strength of the signal; in WLANs, the power divider distributes the signal of the wireless access point to multiple antennas to achieve better wireless signal coverage.

2. Radar Systems:

In radar systems, power dividers are used to distribute the power of the transmitter to multiple radiating units to form a specific antenna beam; at the same time, they can also be used to combine and process the signals of multiple input ports of the receiver. The performance of the power divider has an important influence on the transmission power, receiving sensitivity and antenna beam characteristics of the radar system.

3. Electronic Countermeasures:

In electronic countermeasures equipment, power dividers can be used to distribute interference signals or reconnaissance signals to multiple antennas or multiple processing units to achieve interference or reconnaissance of targets. For example, in interference equipment, the power of interference signals is distributed to multiple antennas through power dividers to expand the interference range and improve the interference effect.

4. Test And Measurement Equipment:

In RF/microwave test and measurement equipment, power dividers are often used to distribute the signal of the signal source to multiple test instruments or test ports for signal measurement and analysis. For example, in spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and other equipment, power dividers can be used to distribute input signals to different measurement channels to achieve multi-parameter measurement of signals.
